The derby, as it was named by the generous audience crowding the Escape Arena, was expected as the greatest show of the season. Indeed the atmosphere was electric for this game between the 2 mighty teams of girls of the league. Dream Team is a regular team of the league, and as evolved since its beginnings as a female team. Now a mixed one, the team is represented by 2 boys and 3 girls on the pitch.

Wonderbrains took a good start in the first half, surprising Dream Team which was not expecting it. The girls managed to get several opportunities, while bloking most of Dream Team's attacks. But after 10 minutes, the beloved white and blue team started to be distraught by the attitude of the 2 pink boys who were packing the defence and thus, the game.

Overall the audience was disappointed by this game, the 2 Dream Team's boys locked the game, preventing both their players and Wonderbrains' ones to fever it up and to take initiatives. "I did not stay until the end", confided Wonderbrains' fan Geert, " as the game turned into a parody".

On r'fait l'match : The Techies - Wonderbrains

Though not the best technicians of the league, The Techies are a very strong team with imposing players. To be noted one of the player is a girl.

After an observation round between the 2 teams, the first goal surprised the girls when the Techies' forward overpassed in force his defender, and shooted a very powerful ball directly in the net. But the first half showed a very solidly organized Wonderbrains, neutralising the majority of the opponent passes. The first half of the game ends on an honourable 5 - 0 score board.
During the second half though, the physical challenge imposed by the techies was really difficult for the girls to cope with, but their commitment was a nice show to watch and saved them from a much severe score.

Furthermore, several player changes were conducted during in an inapropriate time, resulting directly in 3 goals taken by Wonderbrains. Later Cocoatch Aurélien confided us " I am very concerned with the player changes since the team was put in a difficult position [...], and the referee clearly indicated us she will not do anything to arrange it".

On r'fait l'match: Wonderbrains - Drempels

Drempels, the opponent for this 9th match of the league, is not exactly unknown for Wonderbrains. "As we know the others, we are very motivated to play this game !!" declared Wonderbrains' player Ana.

Obviously this feeling was shared among the team. During the 40 minutes of playing, none of the players left to the opponents a free centimeter square. Even on the side of the pitch, the substitutes were very supportive. This led to the better score board of the league so far : 10 - 0. Wonderbrains showed that, even if their technical skills are far lower than their opponent ones, nobody can use its mental an psychological ressources like them. " I am very proud of them, as a team and as football players" said main Sponsor Robin at the end of the game.

On r'fait l'match : Wonderbrains - Biertjes

Wonderbrains : 0 - Biertjes : 11

For this 8th match, Wonderbrains is opposed to Biertjes, though a competitive team, which has demonstrated irregular performances during the season. But this team can rely on some very good players, making this match an interesting one for Wonderbrains.

The girls started full of hope and wanting to score as they managed to do one week ago. The absence of one of the CoCoaches has to be underlined, the pressure supported by the shoulders of the second one is obvious in his behaviour on the side of the pitch. The stress is palpable and it makes him flinty, pushing the girls to defend in the best way they ever did. The substitutions are better organised preventing the WonderBrains to take the avoidable goals they took in the past.

At the end the offensive dream did not come to its end but this game was a lesson of defensive organisation, force and dedication resulting in the smallest goal difference since the beginning of the league for our beloved white and blue team!

On r'fait l'match : Guards - Wonderbrains

Standing in the middle part of the temporary league ranking, Guards carries a reputation of tough team, with stayer players. This team comprises one girl.

This match was the inauguration game for Wonderbrains' new team positionning, leaving the standard 2-2 configuration for the less used 1-2-1 configuration. Both CoCoatches were founding important hopes on it. Of course, such a change cannot be implemented in only one game. "The girls need to work on it, and play more games to be able to master this novelty" judged football expert John K.

Indeed, a lot of goals have been taken by Wonderbrains. But one could notice the improvements in the player attitudes, being much more efficient in bloking Guards' attacks. Several times Guards' players were unable to overpass Wonderbrains' ones. Moreover, after several dangerous opportunities, Ariana finally found the way to the net. "I think we did well tonight and, above all, I am glad we confirmed last match goal average. It is a new period for Wonderbrains!" she declared.
